Amanda LynnAmanda Lynn will give a talk on What is Feldenkrais? – an approach to learning about optimal human functioning with lessons designed to change the way we think, move, feel and sense ourselves in the world. Feldenkrais utilizes movement, attention and imagination to enhance awareness and improve physical, mental and creative performances. Amanda Lynn is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® (& also on staff at Banyen!) will include a mini-lesson on dynamic sitting.

Helen WalkleyHelen Walkley, a Vancouver based contemporary dance artist, certified Laban Movement Analyst and registered Somatic Movement Educate, offers an introduction to the Bartenieff Movement Fundamentals and the Developmental Movement Patterns. This work underlies all movement processes and when experienced fully, enhances mind/body integration and evokes strength and grace, a deep and vital embodiment. This integration/coordination can be applied to any movement idiom, from martial arts, athletics, yoga, Pilates, the performing arts and therapeutic/bodywork practices to everyday walking around. How to Sit Comfortably in Meditation

Allyson GobiWith Allyson Gobi. Regardless of where you are in your practice, past injuries or current complaints, you can learn how to sit comfortably with the aid of props, proper alignment technique and appropriate modifications. Allyson is a RYT trained in the Sivananda lineage (& on staff atBanyen!) Her recent study has focused on the therapeutic application of postures and techniques, recognizing the increasing need for a more gentle practice.
