The growing infant and toddler brain is intricately linked to simple patterns of body movement. Research indicates that early body and brain connections directly influence a child’s emotional, social and intellectual growth. Marcia uncovers how our modern child-rearing practices such as overuse of child-containment devices and screen time potentially put infants and toddlers at risk for under-developed brain function. Her lecture and presentation will lead participants through simple sitting or standing developmental movement patterns and discuss their relationship to primitive brain formation. She will offer ideas for creating stimulating environments to support body and brain development. Her presentations are vital knowledge for parents, care-givers and educators. Children welcome!
