Author M. Amos Clifford explains the science and practice of forest bathing, how it deepens our relationship to nature, and how it is a growing movement for healing both people and planet. This will be an inspiring talk on the medicine of the forest.

Forest bathing is a gentle, meditative practice of connecting with nature. Simply being present, with all of our senses, in a forest or other wild area, can produce mental, emotional, and physical health benefits. It is a simple, accessible antidote to our nature-starved lives and can inspire us to become advocates for healing our relationships with the more-than human world.

Forest Therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. In Japan, forest bathing is known as shinrin-yoku. Studies there have demonstrated a wide variety of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition. Amos Clifford's new book is Your Guide to Forest Bathing: Experience the Healing Power of Nature.

Amos Clifford is the founder of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. A serial social entrepreneur, Amos is a leading voice for Shinrin-Yoku inspired Forest Therapy in the United States. He is founder of The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, Amos and his team have trained Forest Therapy Guides in 35 countries on 6 continents.
"John Muir once said 'between every two pine trees is a doorway leading to a new way of life.' Now Amos Clifford has given us a beautiful and inspiring guide inviting us to seek out the trees and let the healing happen, both for us and for our beleaguered ecosystems. Grab this book and head outside."
