Join us at Banyen for a presentation with special guest Andria Teather, CEO of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada. Andria will present the powerful and fascinating story of Dr. Jane Goodall, from her ground-breaking research with chimpanzees to her global travels today, inspiring a new generation of conservation leaders.
The Jane Goodall Institute is Dr. Goodall’s legacy and carries out her vision. Founded in 1994, the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada works to protect some of the planet’s most endangered habitats and wildlife with particular focus on great apes. JGI Canada also runs Roots & Shoots, a youth program where young people across the country take the lead in becoming agents of community change.
Andria Teather is the Chief Executive Officer of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada. In 2002, Andria left the corporate world to work in the not-for-profit sector on diverse projects for organizations such as Volunteer Vancouver, Volunteering Western Australia and YWCA Vancouver. She was the Executive Director of the Giving in Action Society and Vice-President, Grants and Community Initiatives, at the Vancouver Foundation. She has been a volunteer for a number of organizations and is pleased to be making a difference for people, animals and the environment.
