Banyen's Description:

This fourth volume in the Diamond Heart series contains talks by Almaas, the founder and director of the Ridhwan School, to a group of his students in Colorado and California on the topics of spiritual maturity and non-conceptual reality. In the first part of the book, Almaas describes the understanding and practices needed for the integration of spiritual insight and experience into one’s life. He presents a view of understanding the basic unity of reality, and the issues involved with confronting the egocentric and isolated perspectives of the personality.

In the second part of the book, Almaas takes the teaching and his students into the realm beyond the personal mind, the realm of the non-conceptual, where the real is experienced without the obscuring veils of ordinary conditioned perception. This teaching transmits the ever-new awareness that Krishnamurti called “freedom from the known,” the realm which many Buddhist teachings emphasize and which illuminates the relationships between the dimensions of the real, of form, and of conditioned mind. From the preface:

We live in a world of mystery, wonder and beauty. But most of us seldom participate in this real world, being focused rather on the part that is mostly strife, suffering or meaninglessness. This situation is basically due to our not realizing and living our full human potential. This potential can be actualized by the realization and development of the human Essence. The human Essence is the part of us that is innate and real, and can participate in the real world....

The purpose of the talks is to guide and orient individuals who are engaged in doing the difficult work of essential realization.

Almaas has written a number of other books, of which The Point of Existence and The Pearl Beyond Price are the most widely read.
