Banyen's Description:

This unique collaboration brings together two masters of their fields, joining original words of wisdom by Eckhart Tolle with the delightful illustrations they prompted from Patrick McDonnell. Inhabited by beloved Mutts characters, each heartwarming page provokes thought, insight, and smiling reverence for any moment at all. Many will move readers to smiles and laughter, others will teach them how to live fully present in each moment and by doing so increase the joy and contentment in their lives. With each Tolle quote faced by an apt cartoon, this charming book by two modern masters inspires readers of all stripes to recognize the lessons of the present moment, as embodied by the dogs and cats who share our world.

We have forgotten what rocks, plants, and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be—to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is. Here and Now.

*

The human says, “I love myself,” or, “I hate myself.” The dog says, “Woof, woof,” which, translated, means I AM MYSELF. I call that integrity—being one with yourself.

A few years ago, comic strip artist Patrick McDonnell discovered the work of Eckhart Tolle, and he became a fan, even going so far as to model a Sunday color comic on the cover of Stillness Speaks. He sought out Eckhart, and proposed this collaboration. Eckhart has written new material for this project, and Patrick has illustrated each statement with the delightful and sometimes hilarious creatures from his award-winning comic strip. The cast of characters include Shtinky Puddin (cat), Earl (dog), Mooch (cat), and Woofie (dog), as well as some of their human companions.

Also by Eckhart Tolle is A New Earth.
